DESK UNPLUGGED

Today, you can find us most of our time behind our desk. As digital nomads we are spending hours behind our computer because everything has to be done digitally nowadays. A source where we spill a lot of energy with!

----------------------------------------
"But what if we can use the everyday tasks we perform at this location to generate enough energy to power the electronics we normally have on our desk."
 ----------------------------------------

a question that the Swedish student Eddi Törnberg asked himself. Törenberg started a project called 'unplugged' for the future office. The office where the time we spend behind our desk helps to generate the energy we need to feed our electronics with. That by the pressure on the carpet, the body heat on the chair, plants that produce sugars and natural acids and the heat that got produced by the electronics on the desk.

'Unplugged' is still in progress, so this is a sample of the prototype. I think this technical developments in material could make a big change. Finding ways to produce energy with everyday tasks. A lot of people wants to live greener as long if it takes no extra effort. As people in a wealthy society we once 'act' lazy, because we're used that everything is simplified. We want to do more things, in less time.

Imagine what this could mean in the future. Energy that got produced by the carpets in shopping malls, where hundreds of people walk on every day. Or energy that got produced by body heat in metros, trains and buses. Helping the earth without even knowing it!
