SOUND ON INTUITION

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Combining technology with human movement. During the Dutch Design Week "12, Pieter-Jan Pieters presented 'Sound On Intuition' on the annual Graduation Show of the Design Academy Eindhoven. The idea behind this project is to make it easier to transform your feelings into music. You don't have to know how to play an instrument, because your own body is the instrument. With small and simple movements your the composer of your own play. With the drums of your heart, a rising sound by lifting up your hand and the rhythm of you feet. The only thing you have to do is to listen to your feeling, to follow your intuition.

The connection of technology and the human body. We are slowly melting together. In 'Sound On Intuition' I like the idea that a stream of emotion got expressed into movements which is translated into sound. Like it's a new way of expressing yourself with sound without using your voice. It's not the music notes that controls the melody, but it's the intuitive movement that controls the melody.

But on the other hand, technology is developing insanely fast. The smartphone already became an extension of our body. There's already technology that can read our mind. So where's the line of humanity?
